Patrick's legend lives on. Just last Tuesday, he repeated his accomplishment. Without saying much, never boasting, he followed "Leroo La Tau" from riverbank to grassland until he was able to show his guests two male lions who posed reluctantly but dutifully for many, many pictures. Patrick and all the staff at Leroo La Tau were competent, professional, friendly and accommodating. They worked hard to make certain we had many photos and even more stories to take away with us. Greater than anything else we took was the strong desire to return and re-live our days on the Boteti.

She was a true superstar and packed a lot into those 79 years. Her committment to the AIDS campaign though made her extra special. She will be sadly missed.

Lovely to hear your story Jacques, as with most places people change, and hence the number of people who remember Jessie is slowly reducing. She certainly was a force to be reckoned with and it is lovely to hear some new tales.
