A busy week at Savute Safari Lodge

The young female leopard who visited us last Friday has become quite a regular visitor over the last week. She has been heard almost every night, and she has been sighted on two evenings. On Saturday night, the managers and guides were enjoying a pre-dinner drink at the bar waiting for the guests to arrive, when the tell tale squawking of guinea fowl was heard.

Wild Dog Wednesday

At 6am this morning Savute Safari Lodge’s new Camp Managers, Shane and Kim, heard a commotion followed by a loud crash coming from the workshop. In the middle of the bush noises like these invariably mean wildlife is in the camp and so the guides went to investigate.

Fond farewells and warm welcomes

Mark & Liezl leave Savute Safari Lodge

Today we said a fond farewell to Mark and Liezl who have been Camp Managers at Savute Safari Lodge for exactly three years and three days. Leaving Botswana – and the safari industry – has been a hard decision for them to make, but they are both looking forward to pastures (and countries) new.
